We still need to find a permanent home, one that we can run ourselves and provide a guaranteed safe haven not just for Alert! but fall all of the events who can’t find space in the mainstream venues.
So we continue our search for a venue close enough to the Village to be workable, with a capacity of at least 400, leasehold, that we can take over and run ourselves.
All our feedback tells us that you want a venue close to Canal Street that can be reached by no more than a few minutes’ walk. If we could widen the search radius we would have far more options however unless people are prepared to support a place a little further away, we have to be realistic and rule that out. The venue we find may not currently be a club, as long as it has the potential to be turned into one; we will look at restaurants, empty shells and buildings that we think have potential.
We have tried pretty much all the obvious venues, and in fact have thoroughly explored places like, Tribeca, Napoleons, View, The Molly House etc. We have looked into hiring a railway arch but that wouldn’t be cost effective even if one were available. So we need your help to find somewhere. No suggestion is a bad one and we will welcome any constructive ideas people have.
At the moment any help or suggestions you can offer will be gratefully received.
You can contact us with any ideas via email@example.com – we most likely will reply saying that we have considered that and ruled it out (we have been looking for over a year) but it only needs one suggestion to be the right one and we will have a solution!
