Do you have changing facilities and a cloakroom?
Yes, we have ample space for you to change from your ‘street-wear’ into your fetish gear. As you enter the club, we might ask you if you have something to change into – please don’t be offended at this, we are only trying to make sure that everyone adheres to the dress code. There is a fully-staffed cloakroom where you can leave your belongings. There is a charge of £1.50 (levied by the venue) for a bag/coat but you can return to the cloakroom to retrieve items and then put your bag back in without further charge.
Can you recommend any local hotels to stop at when I come to Alert!?
This matter very much depends upon your specific requirements, luxury, cost, location etc. There are many hotels in the city centre, but we advise you to book early if you want to stay at busy times such as bank holidays as the hotels fill up quickly.
Where do people go after Alert!?
We suggest The Eagle on Bloom Street or Company Bar which are open until late and are popular post-Alert! venues. We have a list of some of these venues with links to their pages here
Do you have an area for smokers?
Yes, there is a sectioned-off area outside the venue where smoking is permitted. You may need to have your wrist stamped or be given a paper wristband.
The venue runs a staffed cloakroom where you can leave clothes, valuables, and any bags so that they will be safe but from time to time people manage to drop something, put something down and forget about it or otherwise losing it. If you lose your cloakroom ticket we will do all we can to help but you may have to wait until the end of the night for the cloakroom team to reunite you with your posessions. Please understand that this is partly for your protection so that we can ensure that nobody other than you ends up with your bag.
The club can be quite dark and things are easily dropped. If you lose something and realise then please let us know in Reception. Usually, items found during the course of the night come to us there. We have some very honest customers and things like wallets, credit cards and hotel keys are invariably handed in.
If you FIND anything during the night that you think may be lost then please bring it to us at Reception.
Sometimes items turn up at the venue when the lights go on at the end of the night, so even if that lost wallet hasn’t been handed in during the event, odds are that it will turn up when the cleaning lights go on.
Anything that is handed to us at Reception or found and not reclaimed at the end of the night will be kept safe and we will do what we can to reunite it with its owner.
If you get home and then realise that something is missing, drop us an email and we will at least be able to confirm whether it was found, and of course, we will then either get it back to you or have it ready for you to collect at the next event – whichever you prefer. We can’t work miracles though and prevention is better than cure so please do take care, check around you when you leave to make sure you haven’t dropped anything and even check that the bag you just put your gear in was actually yours. Yes, we have had people put their trousers in someone else’s bag and then they were stuck at the end of the night with nothing to change back into. (We now have some spare ’emergency’ shorts in case that happens again.
